Hi, Used shampoo and conditioner for eight months. Very drying to the scalp and hair. Can no longer use even though it was rated safe for me.

This ingredient list doesn't match the manufacturer info as of 11/15/23. The manufacturer lists items that are allergens for me (Propylene Glycol) but skinsafe doesn't list it.

I love this conditioner, I hope vanicream never discontinues this. No reaction to it, and I am allergic to coconut and coconut derivatives. The irritation and rashes on the back of my neck, forehead and around my ears is finally clear, and the psoriasis on my scalp is minimal since I started using vanicream shampoo and conditioner. In Canada it is available from Allergy Canada in Toronto.

What’s the consensus about coconut? Because I recently saw that their cleanser has coconut derivatives but I’ve been using it from months :( and it says their glycerin is unspecified

I am allergic to this the patch test said, I was
allergic to those but not the shampoo and their other products

I purchased both the shampoo and conditioner. After one use my scalp is so dry and itching terribly. But this product is listed as safe for me

Anonymous, I reached out to the brand to find out the source of the caprylyl glycol & they confirmed that it is not derived from coconut. I hope this information helps!

Anonymous, it's difficult to determine from product ingredients what ingredient may be the culprit. Sometimes your skin doesn't respond well to even products rated as safe. To determine which ingredient is the irritator, you would have to compare the ingredients of the cosmetic products you have: both the ones that bother your skin and the ones that benefit it. Sorry we can't be of more help!

I am allergic to coconut and have been reacting to it too. I have no issue with glycerine. Would it possible due to Capryl Glycol?

Catrinaf, the ingredient list came from the brand's website and does not list coconut as an ingredient. If you have this product in hand and it contains coconut, can you please send us an image of the front of the product & the ingredient list to [email protected] .
