rockonlog, thank you for your comment. Not all palm trees are coconut trees. A coconut tree is a type of palm tree that has coconuts and its scientific name is Cocos nucifera. This is the only type of palm tree that bears coconuts. A palm tree belongs to the Palmaceae flora class and not all palm trees bear fruit. Palm kernel oil is from the palm tree Elaeis guineensis and not from cocos nucifera (coconut palm tree). Palm acid is also from the fruit of Elaeis guineensis. Sodium palm kernelate comes from palm kernel oil, which is from Elaeis guineensis. Please let us know if you have further questions.
