Personally, this product helped me get my scalp back almost instantaneously after two days of intense itch, red bumps, and flaking from an allergic reaction.
Despite allergy testing it’s still pretty unclear how many cross reactants my skin is sensitive to right now. So, I was cautious with my approach with this: tested in a few spots before I showered, used half the packet, rinsed it early.
What is it like?: It’s basically a little pouch of granules you mix with water and spread on your scalp between shampooing and conditioning. The wet paste it forms feels mildly soapy, not gritty, and has no odor. It was relatively easy to apply to my scalp despite my very, thick curly hair.
Any irritation?: There was barely any irritation while it was setting. I rinsed as soon as an existing scratch in my head started to mildly burn (like sea water on a day old cut). Any irritation went away as soon as I rinsed.
Results: My allergic itch went away immediately, the bumps and flaking calmed down within a few hours. It was amazing.
My non-medical advice is to trial it on patches of skin, be cautious with the first treatment, keep the water handy, and rinse early if something feels off. This may be quite handy for anyone suffering from a bad reaction from a hair product. I wouldn’t use it immediately after the reaction, but maybe a day or two after after things have calmed.
