What is it?
Usnic Acid is an antibacterial substance in many lichens. It occurs in oak moss which is used in the fragrance industry.
How do I avoid it?
Skin contact with Usnic Acid is required for it to cause a rash. Discontinuation of exposure to products containing Usnic Acid should result in improvement and/or the resolution of your dermatitis. By law, all products made in the US for topical use have the ingredients listed on the product package or box that contains it.
