Urea Formaldehyde Resin
What is it?
Urea formaldehyde is a transparent resin, plastic, glue made from urea & formaldehyde. It is the most widely used adhesives in the wood products industry.
How do I avoid it?
You should avoid any contact with this substance. Avoidance requires reading labels, package inserts, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and, on occasion, direct communication with the manufacturer.
Medium density fiberboard (MDF) contains a higher resin-to-wood ratio than any other urea formaldehyde pressed wood product and is generally recognized as being the highest formaldehyde-emitting pressed wood product.
