Homomenthyl Salicylate
What is it?
Homomenthyl Salicylate is a sunscreen primarily used in sun protective products.
How can I avoid it?
Patients may be allergic or photoallergic to Homomenthyl Salicylate. If photoallergic, they may not react to the agent alone, but only with sun exposure. In either case, contact with this agent and with related chemicals should be avoided. This includes octyl Salicylate. To avoid these chemicals, the labels of all sun-protective agents and the products previously listed must be read and products containing oxybenzone, sulisobenzone, cinnamates, dibenzolmethane, PABA derivatives should be substituted.
