What is it?
Fenticlor is a substance used as an antifungal and antibacterial agent in personal care products manufactured outside of the United States. It may cause photosensitivity.

How can I avoid it?
Patient who are allergic or photoallergic to an agent that is used in personal care products manufactured abroad should not use any products unless they are labeled and do not contain the substance. Workers in the thermoplastics industry may be exposed to Novex, which is fenticlor used as a resin. Avoidance requires reading labels, package inserts, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and on occasion, direct communication with the manufacturer that potentially produces products containing this ingredient.
